Cooper, affectionately known as Captain Hissy Pants, has come a long way. He was found abandoned in a rural area and arrived frightened and unsure of the world around him. At first, he expressed that fear by hissing at everyone and everything.
With time, patience, and consistency, Cooper’s true personality emerged. Once he learned he was safe, he became an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy who now loves nothing more than curling up in a lap and enjoying quiet companionship.
Cooper can still be jumpy with sudden movements, so he would do best in a calm home where his environment is predictable and his boundaries are respected. He would thrive with someone who is home often and able to provide the reassurance and routine he needs to feel secure.

During her very first in-store event, Salem happily made biscuits while being brushed, an excellent sign for a cat adjusting to a new environment.
