Our team

Heidi, Founder

In August 2015, After fostering with another rescue, I founded Heidi’s Kitty Haven.  I felt I had more to give these little creatures with no voice. I specialize in kittens and cats with disabilities.

Our Vision of a Cat

We believe that a cat is not just an animal; the are members of our family. A cat will spend its entire life with us, and is not a disposable object. When bringing a new family member into our homes, we must be ready to commit to up to 20+ years to their care. We must understand that kittens may be tiny and cute, but they will not remain this way. They will grow into adult cats, who are not always tiny and cute. Cats are our family member, and must be cared for the same as a human family member; right into their golden years. Cats, such as humans, don’t always have behaviours that we may or may not agree with. This is not a reason to abandon them at a shelter, humane society or on the streets. They must be cleaned, fed and loved just like a human. Cats are sentient beings; they feel pain, loss and joy. Cats are like humans; they must learn how to behave. Sometimes this may require outside help.

Cats may live to over 20 years. Are you prepared for this commitment?
